Melissa Harrison is an English novelist, short story and nature writer from Surrey. Harrison studied English Literature at Oxford University and afterwards worked as a freelance column subeditor for Times, The Guardian and for some radio stations and television. Harrison is famous for her novels such as “Clay”, “At Hawthorn Time” as well as for her non-fiction books like “Rain: Four Walks in English Weather”, “All Among The Barley” and the short story “The Black Dog”.
